What is CEREC®?

CEREC® stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It is an innovative dental technology that enables our skilled dentists to design, create, and place dental crowns right in our office, eliminating the need for multiple appointments and temporary crowns.

The CEREC® Dental Crown Difference

Traditional dental crown placement requires multiple visits; one to take an impression of the tooth to send to a dental lab, and the other to place the permanent crown after it’s complete. CEREC® crowns eliminate the need for waiting, messy impressions, and temporary restorations.

The CEREC® technology utilizes an infrared camera that takes 3D images of your damaged tooth, sending them directly to our milling machine. It will fabricate your crown right there in our office, allowing us to complete your procedure the same day.

What are same-day crowns?

Same-day crowns are a revolutionary dental treatment that allows patients to receive a custom-made, high-quality dental crown in just a single visit to the dentist. Traditionally, getting a dental crown would involve multiple visits to the dentist, a temporary crown, and a waiting period of a week or more for the permanent crown to be made in a dental lab.

With same-day crowns, advanced CEREC technology is used to design, fabricate and place the crown in just one appointment. This means less time in the dental chair, no need for a temporary crown, and immediate relief from your dental issue.

How are same-day crowns made?

Same-day crowns are made using state-of-the-art CEREC technology. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. During your appointment, Dr. Jonathan Zsambeky will first prepare your tooth for the crown. Then, a digital impression of your tooth will be taken using a special camera.

This digital image is then used to create a 3D model of your tooth on a computer. Using this model, the CEREC machine will then mill your custom crown from a block of high-quality ceramic, matching the color to your surrounding teeth for a natural look. Once the crown is ready, it is bonded to your tooth. The whole process takes just a few hours.

What are the benefits of same-day crowns?
